“Info about Gary’s Motocross School Group Classes”.
In order to be able to critique each rider, Gary only takes a maximum of 15 riders per class. The cost of each class is $160.00 per rider. You can sign up for one of Gary’s group classes if the class has “Openings Available” in the Class Schedule above. To signup by leaving your 60.00 deposit scroll down to the blue “Add to Cart” button. Be sure to include the class date in notes before checkout. The remaining $100.00 will need to be paid in cash at the school. Classes run form 10:00 to 4:00 unless otherwise listed. For these classes riders must be 12 years or older on an 85 or larger.
Note; If there are 5 or less riders in the class the class maybe shorten. This is because all the techniques and critiquing will be covered in a shorter time. In these cases there is more time offered for open practice after the instructional part of the school is completed. What better time to practice when all the new techniques are fresh in your mind. If any riders still want more critiquing, just ask and you will have it.

Since the school’s humble beginning, in 1985, our students have won 26 AMA Pro Motocross/Supercross Championships, from McGrath to Villopoto!
What you will learn in the class? All the important techniques for flat and rutted corners and the jumping techniques for absorbing (staying low) and launching (getting more height and distance). Not only will you learn all these time, tested and proven techniques, but you will also learn how to practice them in order to keep improving after you leave the school. Gary sets up practice drills so all the techniques can be practiced through repetition. This enables the riders to repeat each group of techniques over and over again. Then, periodically, they are stopped and critiqued individually. There are no long talks. Instead all the riders get to ride a lot. They get a lot of quick critiquing and they are riding again. The end results have been phenomenal. According to the weather, classes usually start at 10:00 and end at 4:00. Don’t miss this opportunity to “Make Yourself a Better, Safer Rider”!
At all of Gary’s group class schools, he will also have his most popular Motocross Techniques DVDs, The Motocross Practice Manual and GSMXS T-Shirts on sale at discounted prices!

Gary has a wealth of knowledge in the sport and has “been there, done that” so you can rest assured he is giving beneficial critiques during his lessons. I give him the majority of the credit on my progress over the last couple of years. Started riding 4 years ago, made it Loretta Lynn’s National Championship last year and looking to do the same this year. There isn’t many opportunities to ride with a former SX champion but here it is! Thanks for everything, Gary!
It was my first time working with Gary and he found some things I was doing wrong right away. He made suggestions that I've been working on and have found improvement already!! I'll be back thanks for your time and advice.

Gary is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I went into my first private lesson all nervous, but Gary is very chill and layed back... Which is awesome. I improved a lot and learned a ton. The way that Gary Teaches makes everything understandable, the way the message is delivered about what you need to do is done perfectly. Huge thanks to Gary Semics for helping me out and being so cool.
The weather was not cooperating, but we still maximized our track time. Gary is very good describing proper technique, and assisting you correcting your trouble areas. The class was easy going, and very helpful. Both myself and my son attended, and I feel I got my moneys worth. I would gladly take it again, as you can always improve. Thanks Gary for the great class.
There’s nothing like having Gary, a man that focuses on the techniques, give you a one on one lesson. Once he showed me what I was doing wrong, I could tell an immediate difference. He gave me a personalized list of techniques to practice, and I’m looking forward to going back to further the training.
Gary’s initial evaluation and overall assessment of a riders strengths and weaknesses was impressive. He made the lesson both informarive and enjoyable by creating a sense of competition between my sons that brought out their very best. Looking forward to our next lesson!
As a rider based out of the St. Louis area, I can tell you that the Gary Semics riding school was worth every hour and dollar spent driving to Ohio for just a one day class. Gary is such a great person and he really knows what he's talking about when it comes to motocross. If I could give one tip about taking this class it would be that you can't let your ego get the best of you, Gary is going to tell it to you straight whether you're doing something wrong or not. But it's up to you to make it a great time (I had an absolute blast). Gary has such a great sense of humor and it really makes for an amazing learning environment. So I highly recommend it because I know I am going to be attending another class as soon as possible.
Also if you take the class, ask Gary about a kid that jumped the big tabletop and then almost went for a swim in the pond I'm sure you'll get a good laugh out it.
This was my first time working with Gary and I was very impressed, he is a very nice guy and his knowledge is endless. During my lesson he was very instructional and is very good at showing and explaing what he means so that you understand. It was a pleasure and great a experience working with Gary.
Just attended a one day group class at ECMX,we started on corners Gary sent us out ,watched for a few minutes called everyone in and gave us some things to try after just a few laps I could tell these techniques were working.Gary would also pull you off as a individual and tell you what you were doing wrong.after about 2 hours of this the rain started but instead of just setting around Gary had use get our bikes and bike stands and he showed us body positions.where your feet should be on the pegs and so on.this was a good class I wish Mother Nature would had waited tell we were done .will definitely attend another one of Gary's classes.
I was impressed with Garys way of doing things. The kids really do have fun as they are learning. In such a short time my son showed signs of improvement especially on cornering and rear braking when approaching corners. I highly recommend him for yourself and children in the sport of you get the opportunity.
I’ve had two lessons with Gary so far and I’ve already noticed a difference in my riding. He picked out the little things that I was doing wrong, and corrected them on all different parts on the track. I love his classes so far and I will be going to many more in the near future.
Lessons with Gary are by far the best bang for your buck. He has the experience to quickly notice things you are doing wrong with the ability to easily explain them to you in layman’s terms. So if you are serious about improving you have two options. You can use the trial and error method which wastes fuel, wears out equipment, has a greater chance for injury and wastes time. Or you can invest some money in yourself with lessons which saves time, reduces the chance of injury and won’t cost you near as much in the long run.
Any rider looking to build a strong foundation on fundamentals as a beginning rider or enhance their skill level as a seasoned racer, this is the place to do it. Decades of knowledge as a professional racer, Gary is eager to share what he knows. He is patient and very good at critiquing your weaknesses as a rider. You simply won't find as nicer guy in this industry as a coach. My son Jaden & I will be back in the future for more lessons as we progress in the sport. Thank's again Gary for a great learning experience, - Toby & Jaden Hensel
Want to take a moment and thank you for what you’ve done for me. From getting me lined out on techniques, mental and fitness advice, and everything else in between. You’ve helped me reach a place where I can go out and truly enjoy riding and embrace it even more so than when I quit back in the day! I don’t have a fear of not being able to ride decent or getting hurt. I can just go out, block out the world, and just have fun riding my dirt bike. Thank you Gary!
From an email I sent to Gary after 1 day class June 2019:
I wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much I appreciated your class this past weekend. I have been away from dirt bikes for some 15 years while my kids grew up. I’ve gotten older and the bikes have changed a bit so I have definitely been frustrated trying to pick up where I left off. I knew I needed to spend time in a class like yours but instead I just jumped in there and started racing. My confidence has been lacking since coming back so spending the time in your class was well worth it as I feel a lot more “in charge” on the bike now.
Thanks for your encouragement and for sharing all your various thoughts on how to do this thing right. It has given me a lot to think about which is good for my brain to sort out. I hope to make it out to your place again next year.
